When a buccal undercut needs to be created for retention of a clasp, dental composite can be easily bonded to the tooth. This composite ledge is usually placed after the appliance is fabricated. However, if you prefer, you can place the appropriate composite ledge(s) prior to taking the impression for appliance fabrication.
